Woman of the Sabine people
Derived from the Sabines, an ancient Italic tribe that lived in the central Apennine Mountains. According to Roman legend, the Sabines were integrated into Roman society after the famous 'Rape of the Sabine Women,' eventually becoming part of the Roman citizenry.
