Lion; from the land of the Rus
Ruslan is a name with dual layers of significance. It is primarily derived from the Turkic word 'arslan', meaning lion, but it is also deeply associated with the Slavic 'Rus', referring to the historical region of Russia and Ukraine. The name gained immense literary prestige through Alexander Pushkin's epic poem 'Ruslan and Ludmila'.
