Little rose or red-haired
Roslin is a diminutive form of Rose, often associated with the Scottish village of Roslin, home to the famous Rosslyn Chapel. It may also derive from the Germanic elements 'hros' meaning horse and 'lind' meaning soft or tender. In some contexts, it is viewed as a variant of the French name Roseline.
