Dew of the sea or bitter rose
A compound name combining Rose and Marie. While Rose refers to the flower, Marie is the French form of Mary, which has roots in the Hebrew 'Miryam,' often interpreted as 'bitter' or 'beloved.' It is also frequently associated with the Latin 'ros marinus,' meaning 'dew of the sea.'
