Famous throughout the land
Rolanda is the feminine form of Roland, a name of Germanic origin. It is composed of the elements 'hrod' meaning fame and 'land' meaning land or territory. While Roland was a legendary hero in medieval French literature, the feminine version emerged much later and remains a rare choice in the United States.
