Bright fame
A modern spelling variant of Robin, which originated as a medieval diminutive of Robert. It combines the Germanic elements 'hrod' meaning fame and 'beraht' meaning bright. While the name is also associated with the robin bird, its etymological roots are tied to the name Robert.
