In Islamic tradition, Ar-Rayyan is the name of one of the gates of Jannah (Paradise) specifically reserved for those who fast. The name also carries linguistic roots in Arabic referring to being well-watered or lush, symbolizing abundance and spiritual reward. While often spelled Rayan, this double-a variant is a common phonetic transliteration.
