Wood pigeon or oarsman
In French, 'ramier' refers to the wood pigeon, a bird associated with peace. It also has roots in the Germanic name Ramer, derived from 'ragin' meaning counsel and 'mari' meaning famous, or potentially from the Latin 'remus' meaning oar.
