Luxuriant, plentiful, or one who is satiated with water
In Arabic, the name is derived from the root R-W-Y, meaning to be well-watered or quenched. It is traditionally associated with Ar-Rayyan, the gate of Paradise in Islamic tradition through which only those who observed fasting during Ramadan may enter.
