Good judgment, caution, or discretion
Derived from the Latin word 'prudentia', meaning foresight or sagacity. It was popularized as a virtue name by the Puritans in the 17th century, intended to encourage a life of careful and wise decision-making. While it fell out of common use in the mid-20th century, it retains a scholarly and vintage charm.
