In Hebrew, Peri is a gender-neutral name meaning 'fruit'. In Persian mythology, a Peri is a beautiful, winged spirit or fairy, originally considered mischievous but later seen as benevolent. It is also used as a short form of the Greek name Peristera, meaning 'dove'.
