Little deer
Derived from the Irish 'OisΓn', meaning 'little deer'. In Irish mythology, Ossian was a legendary warrior-poet, the son of Fionn mac Cumhaill and the goddess Sadbh, who was famously transformed into a deer. The name gained international fame in the 18th century through the poems of James Macpherson.
