Noni is a multi-cultural name with several distinct roots. In Hebrew, it is often used as a diminutive for Hananiah, meaning 'gift of God,' while in Latin it relates to 'nona' for the number nine. It is also the common name for the Morinda citrifolia fruit found in the Pacific Islands.
