Crimson or water sprite
In Germanic mythology, a Nix is a shapeshifting water spirit. As a surname-turned-given-name, it can also derive from the Middle English 'nix', a variant of 'nick', meaning crimson or a notch. It is currently used as a short, punchy modern choice.
