Victory of the people
Nikol is a variant of Nicole, which is derived from the Greek name Nikolaos. It combines the elements 'nike' (victory) and 'laos' (people). While the 'Nikol' spelling is more common in Slavic and Central European regions, it is used globally as a modern, streamlined alternative to the traditional French spelling.
Less common today
Nikol isn't in the latest US Top 1000. It last peaked at #6,088 in 1991.
