Victory of the people
Nicolette is a French diminutive of Nicole, which ultimately derives from the Greek name Nikolaos. It combines 'nike' (victory) and 'laos' (people). While it was popular in the mid-20th century, it now feels like a rare, sophisticated alternative to the more common Nicole.
