Derived from the Hebrew name Naphtali, it refers to the biblical son of Jacob and Bilhah. The name signifies the 'struggle' or 'wrestling' of Rachel against her sister Leah. In the Bible, Naphtali is also the name of one of the twelve tribes of Israel.
