Neave is an anglicized phonetic spelling of the Irish name Niamh. In Irish mythology, Niamh was a princess known as 'Niamh of the Golden Hair,' the daughter of the sea god Manannán mac Lir, who lured Oisín to the land of eternal youth, Tír na nÓg.
