Muriah is a rare variant of the biblical name Moriah. In the Old Testament, Mount Moriah is the site where Abraham was commanded to sacrifice Isaac, often interpreted as 'seen by Yahweh' or 'chosen by Yahweh.' It may also be influenced by the Latin name Mary, meaning 'bitter.'
