A variant of Morgan, likely influenced by the Welsh 'Mor' meaning sea and 'cant' meaning circle, or the Old Irish 'Mor-Rigan' meaning great queen. In Arthurian legend, the name is associated with the powerful enchantress Morgan le Fay. It carries a sense of mystery and ancient Celtic heritage.
