Gracious gifts or mercies
A rare variant of Mercedes, derived from the Spanish title of the Virgin Mary, 'Maria de las Mercedes'. It refers to the 'mercies' or 'gracious gifts' bestowed by the divine. While the variant ending in 's' is more common, this version offers a singular, streamlined sound.
