Bitter or unhappy
A biblical name of Hebrew origin, Merari traditionally means 'bitter' or 'sorrowful.' In the Old Testament, Merari was a son of Levi and the founder of the Merarite clan, who were responsible for the structural components of the Tabernacle. While historically masculine in the Bible, it has recently gained attention as a unique, rhythmic choice for girls.
