Great or mother
Mayia is a rare variant of Maya. It likely derives from the Greek 'Maia', the eldest of the Pleiades and mother of Hermes, or from the Latin 'Maius', associated with the month of May. In various cultures, it carries connotations of motherhood, growth, and the spring season.
