Gift of God
Mati is often used as a diminutive of Matthew or Matilda, but it also stands alone in several cultures. In Hebrew contexts, it is a shortened form of Mattityahu, meaning 'gift of God.' In Estonian and Finnish traditions, it is a well-established masculine name.
