Star of the sea
Maren is a Scandinavian form of Marina, derived from the Latin 'marinus'. While often associated with the sea, it is also considered a variation of Mary in some Germanic traditions. It has gained popularity in the US as a fresh, tailored alternative to Mary or Margaret.
