A name with diverse roots, Malina means 'raspberry' in several Slavic languages. In Greek, it is often associated with the name Magdalene, referring to Mary Magdalene and the city of Magdala, meaning 'tower'. In Inuit mythology, Malina is the name of the sun goddess.
