Bitter, beloved, or drop of the sea
Mairyn is a modern phonetic variant of the Welsh name Mair or the Irish MΓ‘irΓn, both of which are forms of Mary. Its roots are ultimately traced back to the Hebrew name Miryam, which has several debated meanings including 'bitterness', 'rebellion', or 'wished-for child'.
