Maico is a diminutive or variant form of Michael, used primarily in Italian and Portuguese contexts. It shares the same etymological root as the Hebrew name Mikha'el, which poses a rhetorical question about the incomparability of God. While rare in the United States, it is occasionally used in Latin American and European communities.
