High tower or woman from Magdala
A variant of Madeline, which ultimately derives from the Greek name Magdalene. It refers to Mary Magdalene, a prominent figure in the New Testament whose name signifies her origin from the town of Magdala, a fishing village on the Sea of Galilee.
