Laurel or clown
As a variant of Lawrence, it derives from the Latin 'Laurus' referring to the laurel tree, a symbol of victory. In Dutch and German contexts, it is also associated with the word for 'clown' or 'simpleton,' and it is the name of a small nocturnal primate found in Southeast Asia.
