Lorelie is a variant of Lorelei, which originates from German folklore. It refers to a rocky promontory on the Rhine River where, according to legend, a beautiful siren lured sailors to their doom with her song. The name combines the elements 'lureln' (murmuring) and 'ley' (rock).
