Land of the lakes
Originally a Gaelic term referring to Scandinavia, it was used to describe the land of the Norse invaders. It eventually transitioned from a geographic descriptor to a personal name in Ireland and Scotland. It carries a sense of rugged, ancient history and maritime heritage.
