Liborio is a name with two primary etymological paths. It is often considered a derivative of the Latin 'liber', meaning 'free', or it may refer to an inhabitant of the ancient city of Libora in Spain. It has long been used in Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese cultures, often in honor of Saint Liborius.
