Leina is a name with multiple possible origins. In Hawaiian, it is often associated with 'leina' meaning a leap or place to leap from, while in Arabic contexts it is a variant of Layna, meaning 'tender' or 'palm tree'. It is also sometimes used as a diminutive of Helena, meaning 'shining light'.
