Lehua flower; fringe-like
In Hawaiian, Lehua refers to the blossom of the 'ohi'a tree, which is sacred to the volcano goddess Pele. The name is deeply rooted in Hawaiian mythology and is often associated with the first person killed in battle or a beloved person. It specifically describes the beautiful, delicate, fringe-like red stamens of the flower.
