Supplanter or let God protect
Kobi is often used as a diminutive of Jacob or Kobi (a Hebrew variation). It carries the traditional meaning of 'supplanter' from the biblical Jacob, but is also used as a modern, independent name in various cultures including Japanese and Hungarian.
