Darkness or gloom
In Swahili, Kiza translates directly to darkness or gloom. While it carries a somber literal meaning, it is often used in East African cultures to denote a child born during a time of darkness, a storm, or at night. In some contexts, it is also considered a diminutive or variation of names like Keziah.
