Giraffe or mythical creature
In Japanese, Kirin refers to the giraffe, but it is also the name of a mythical hooved creature in East Asian mythology known as the Qilin. This creature is said to appear with the arrival or passing of a sage or illustrious ruler, symbolizing prosperity and serenity.
