Lord or master
Kire is a South Slavic diminutive form of Kiril, which is derived from the Greek name Kyrillos. It ultimately stems from the Greek word 'kyrios', meaning lord or master. While rare in the United States, it is a familiar name in Macedonia and Bulgaria.
