From the royal fortress meadow
A modern contraction or variant of Kimberley, which derives from the Old English name Cyneburg. It combines elements meaning 'royal' or 'noble' with 'fortress' and 'meadow'. While Kimberley has deep historical roots, Kimbra emerged as a distinct, shorter creative variant in the 20th century.
