Kiela is most often considered a variant of the Irish name Keila or Kaylee, derived from the Gaelic 'caol' meaning slender. It can also be interpreted as a modern variation of the Hebrew name Keila, which refers to a fortified city. In some contexts, it is used as a feminine form of Kyle.
