Joy, delight, or pure
In Arabic contexts, Khara is often associated with joy and delight. It is also sometimes considered a variant of the Greek name Katherine, meaning 'pure', or the Sanskrit name Khara, which appears in Hindu mythology. Parents should be aware that in certain Arabic dialects, the word has a vulgar slang meaning, which contributes to its rarity.
