Pure; elder sister; or myrtle tree
Kayah is a multicultural name with several possible roots. It is often used as a variation of Kaia, meaning 'pure' in Greek or 'sea' in Hawaiian, while in some Native American traditions it refers to an elder sister. It also appears as a phonetic spelling of the Hebrew name Keziah, which refers to the myrtle tree.
