Queen mother
A variant spelling of Candace, derived from the ancient Kushite title 'kdke' or 'Kandake,' which was used for royal women or queen mothers in the Kingdom of Kush. The name appears in the New Testament of the Bible, referring to the Queen of the Ethiopians.
