Jovey is a diminutive form of Jove, the name of the king of the gods in Roman mythology, also known as Jupiter. It shares etymological roots with the Latin word for 'day' or 'sky'. While historically masculine in its root form, the 'ey' suffix gives it a modern, feminine appeal for contemporary parents.
