Joshiah is a rare variant of the biblical name Josiah. It is derived from the Hebrew name Yoshiyahu, which combines the elements 'yasha' (to support or help) and 'Yah' (the Hebrew God). In the Old Testament, Josiah was a righteous king of Judah who instituted significant religious reforms.
