Joaquina is the Spanish and Portuguese feminine form of Joaquín (Joachim). It is derived from the Hebrew name Yehoyaqim, which carries the theological meaning of being established or lifted up by God. Historically, Saint Joachim was the father of the Virgin Mary, giving the name deep roots in Catholic tradition.
