Ganges river; daughter of Yaksha
In Hindu mythology, Jhanvi is an epithet for the holy river Ganges, personified as a goddess. The name is derived from the sage Jahnu, who is said to have swallowed the river and later released it through his ear, making the river his 'daughter'.
