A variant spelling of Jennifer, which is the Cornish form of the Welsh name Gwenhwyfar. It is composed of the elements 'gwen' meaning fair or white and 'hwyfar' meaning smooth or soft. While the standard spelling dominated the 1970s, this double-f version is a rarer alternative.
