Jen is a short form of Jennifer, which is the Cornish form of the Welsh name Gwenhwyfar. It is derived from the elements 'gwen' meaning white or fair and 'hwyfar' meaning smooth or wave. While historically feminine, it is occasionally used as a standalone unisex name or a nickname for Jensen.
